Menard Trail paved perimeter return

Alaska · Other separated ride

follow the paved perimeter trail to its end at the north-side parking lot. Turn before entering the vehicle area and retrace the trail. The city gives one mile between the two lots, so allow about two miles return, plus the parking walk. This is an out-and-back; there is no need to close a loop through parking aisles or ride Clapp Street. Walk any vehicle interface and turn earlier at a barrier or unsuitable surface.

Wasilla, Alaska · About 2 miles out and back · Paved · Snow-free season

Ride the wooded edge of the Menard Sports Center, with an easy return to the same car park. The city explicitly welcomes bicycles and describes the path as easy to walk.

Start: Menard Sports Center, 1001 S Clapp Street, Wasilla. Use the south-side public parking, opposite the outdoor public restrooms. Walk your bicycle from your space to the signed perimeter path. Follow event reservations and parking signs.

Ride: follow the paved perimeter trail to its end at the north-side parking lot.

The easy description is qualitative. Expect bends, leaves and uneven patches; walk an uncomfortable slope. Yield to walkers, keep dogs leashed and give other users space. Motorized vehicles are prohibited; e-bike class eligibility is not established. Winter skiing and snowshoeing are separate from this ordinary snow-free bicycle outing.

Planning: choose daylight and obey posted trail and lot hours. Building hours and indoor-track admission do not establish outdoor trail hours or charges. The reviewed pages give no separate outdoor trail tariff; posted terms govern. Restroom opening is not guaranteed. Events can restrict parking.

Access reviewed October 20, 2026: no selected-trail closure appeared in the reviewed city trail and facility pages. A dated indoor-track closure schedule does not close the outdoor trail. Recheck notices and signs before visiting; snow and ice can make this ride unsuitable.
