Choose the smaller of Alcantra's two improved bicycle loops for a short park outing. The borough welcomes cycling and describes generally gentle terrain; its trail listing rates the system Easy.
Start: Alcantra Sports Complex, 2732 E Seldon Road, Wasilla. Use designated public complex parking, then walk the bicycle along the signed public approach to the paved loop around the baseball fields. School lots, residential driveways and ballfields are not substitute access. If you cannot identify a lawful public connection, postpone rather than crossing playing surfaces.
Ride: follow only the paved path circling the baseball fields, returning to the same junction. The borough's bicycle GIS feature 250 lists about 0.575 mile for this closed loop: round it to 0.6 mile, with the parking approach additional. Repeat a lap if desired. The advertised 1.6-mile network and two-mile listing include a broader scope; they are not this loop's length.
Keep to pavement at branches. Exclude the forest loop, school and subdivision connectors, disc-golf paths and winter-only ski loop. Walk any driveway or vehicle interface and retrace if a closure interrupts the circuit. Short ramps can feel steeper than the general gentle rating; no measured maximum slope is supplied.
Planning: the complex lists 9 a.m.–10 p.m. daily; choose daylight within posted access. Field and pavilion rentals are separate. The reviewed owner pages do not publish an ordinary trail charge, so follow posted parking terms. Slow for children and walkers, and pause for moose rather than approaching them. This is a conventional bicycle outing, with no e-bike class finding or winter cycling assurance.
Access reviewed October 20, 2026: the owner lists the trail open. That listing does not inspect today's pavement or establish dry, snow-free conditions. Obey newer signs and event restrictions.
