Odenton / Two Rivers, Maryland · Up to 2 miles return · Paved main rail-trail

Start: County WB&A public lot at Patuxent Road, WB&A Trail Parking, Patuxent Road, Odenton, MD. County’s operational Phase II specifically includes a public parking lot at Patuxent Road. Use the signed trail lot and ordinary visitor spaces; walk to the main WB&A and any access-drive interface. Do not park on the road or substitute private Two Rivers community spaces. Generic 8403 Piney Orchard address is a different trail reference, not this lot pin.

Ride: Take the main WB&A toward Odenton / Strawberry Lake Way, staying on the Anne Arundel side. Turn after one outward mile or before the first public road, barrier or uncomfortable bridge / ramp, then retrace. Do not take Phase IV spurs, cross the Patuxent River bridge or ride a road detour.

Distance: Chosen two-mile maximum return. The county’s 5.7-mile mainline and nearly thirteen-mile cross-county connection are broader extents, not extra selected miles.

Permission and effort: County identifies operational public recreational phases; official bridge-opening account explicitly includes cyclists. Short railway course gives a modest-effort expectation by editorial inference; no surveyed gradient or blanket easy rating for bridge ramps. This outing ends before uncomfortable transitions.

Planning: Dawn–dusk; obey posted public-lot limits. County trail index lists no ordinary trail entrance or parking fees. Organized events differ. Anne Arundel county rules: keep right, yield and announce passes; maximum 15 mph or lower posted limit, no racing / pace lines. Prince George’s device policies are different and are not applied here.

Access reviewed October 20, 2026 Central (October 21 UTC): County project page updated June 10, 2025 lists Phases IA, II, III, IVa and V operational; its remaining punch-list text does not cancel the separately confirmed May 2025 bridge opening. This short ride does not require that bridge. Current local works and signs govern; no current tread inspection or universal reopening inferred.

Bring water and choose suitable weather. Parking walking is extra. No surveyed parking-space pin or navigable GPX is supplied.
