paved, with an Easy rating in the official tourism guide. Gentle rolling sections and bends can still require slowing or walking; no surveyed maximum slope is available. Enjoy a short stretch of Guntersville's paved lakefront path, starting at the Chamber of Commerce. The outing stays on the northern shoreline section and returns the same way, without requiring a crossing of the Highway 69 causeway.

Distance: up to 2 miles out and back, plus the parking approach. Follow the path for one mile toward the L. B. Wallace/Civitan Park side, or turn earlier at a public-road crossing, barrier or unsuitable section. The one-mile limit is a chosen distance-counter turnaround, not a surveyed milepost or a claim that a particular pavilion is exactly one mile away.

Start: Lake Guntersville Chamber of Commerce, 200 Gunter Avenue, Guntersville, AL 35976. The official tourism guide identifies the Chamber as a trail parking location. Use the designated trail-access parking and walk your bicycle to the paved shoreline path, observing reserved spaces and posted restrictions. The tourism visitor center at 1601 Gunter Avenue is a different facility; its address is not this trailhead.

Course: from the Chamber access, follow the public paved path along the lake toward L. B. Wallace Drive and Civitan Park. Keep the lake beside you and follow the designated path rather than an adjacent street. Retrace at the one-mile limit or before an earlier public-road crossing. Do not extend this short course across Highway 69 or through private restaurant terraces and docks at City Harbor.

Surface and effort: paved, with an Easy rating in the official tourism guide. Gentle rolling sections and bends can still require slowing or walking; no surveyed maximum slope is available. The lake edge is exposed to wind and sun. Benches and public restrooms occur along the wider path, but this short course does not guarantee an open restroom at every start or turnaround.

Traffic: this is a shared shoreline path, with pedestrians, dogs and recreational users. Use extra care at parking entrances, driveways and access paths. Turn before a street crossing rather than assuming traffic stops for the trail. This guide does not certify current crossing controls or include a road detour.

Hours and cost: the official 2025 tourism guide lists no trail fee and asks that dogs be leashed. Use daylight and posted park and lot terms. Lighting does not establish 24-hour access; Chamber business hours are separate from trail operating hours. Special events can affect parking. E-bike class eligibility is not established here.

Access check: current official tourism and Chamber information were reviewed October 19, 2026, alongside the city's two-page trail sheet and the official 2025 guide. No notice closing this selected short course appeared in the reviewed material. The city sheet describes multiple trail pieces as not connected, while other sources advertise almost four miles or longer traces. Those totals are not treated as a verified, uninterrupted bicycle course. This check is not a physical flood, bridge or pavement inspection.
