Pearl Harbor Bike Path: short west return from Blaisdell Park

Hawaii · Greenway

Walk through Blaisdell Park to the shoreline bicycle path. Turn west, away from Aiea Bay, ride up to half a mile and retrace. Stay on the public path; private utility sites, highway riding and the full Waipahu extension are excluded.

Access note. Use Blaisdell Park and head west; Aiea Bay parking construction is a separate location to the east. Inspect bridge approaches and stop at debris, damage or barriers. This guide does not promise a clear full route to Waipahu.

Pearl Harbor Bike Path: short west return from Blaisdell Park — detailed guide

Source review: 2026-10-21. A dated source review does not guarantee current-day conditions.

Walk through Blaisdell Park to the shoreline bicycle path. Turn west, away from Aiea Bay, ride up to half a mile and retrace. Stay on the public path; private utility sites, highway riding and the full Waipahu extension are excluded.

Start and parking approach

Start: Neal S Blaisdell Park, 98-319 Kamehameha Highway, Aiea, HI.

Use open designated Blaisdell Park visitor parking, then walk through the park to the shoreline path. The Hawaii Health Department site map identifies its public lot, restrooms and bike path. Do not substitute Aiea Bay parking or a neighboring business lot.

Distance and route

Selected ride: Up to 1 mile return. Format: Out and back.

Chosen cap of 0.5 mile(s) outward and the same distance back; a named early turnaround or barrier shortens it. This is not a measured full segment. The parking/access walk is extra.

Walk through Blaisdell Park to the shoreline bicycle path. Turn west, away from Aiea Bay, ride up to half a mile and retrace. Stay on the public path; private utility sites, highway riding and the full Waipahu extension are excluded.

Surface and effort

Paved shared-use bike path; condition varies at bridges and edges. Generally gentle shoreline course; walk tight park connections and uncomfortable bridge approaches. No surveyed maximum slope or accessibility certification is supplied.

Shared use and interfaces

Yield to people walking, slow at blind bends and junctions, and walk uncomfortable ramps or bridges. Follow the public shared-use path rather than service roads, activity courses or private land. Do not improvise a road detour around a closure. The selected distance excludes parking aisles and other connecting walks.

Hours, costs and current access

Choose daylight and obey posted municipal park and lot hours; do not apply Aiea Bay’s different gate hours to this start. No admission price established for this selected start; obey posted parking terms.

Reviewed October 21, 2026. Aiea Bay’s October construction notice still describes limited parking; a two-week estimate does not establish completion. This start and westward course avoid that park entirely. The city lists the Blaisdell connector as an existing bicycle facility; the published paved-path description supports the selected short return. Check for debris, obstructions and bridge damage; no whole-corridor clearance is claimed. The separately reviewed sewer construction is planned for 2028–2032, not an active 2026 trail closure.

Map reference

The marker is a labeled planning reference, not a surveyed bicycle entrance, parking stall or navigable route line. Use the written start and on-site signs.
