Start: Lake Hefner — Stars and Stripes, Stars and Stripes Park, 3701 South Lake Hefner Drive, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Retained owner page and public trailhead inventory identify Stars and Stripes as a trail access. Use signed ordinary public park visitor spaces, not BMX, event-reserved or business parking. Tourism calls a nearby lot private; that statement is not public permission for that lot. Use designated ordinary visitor spaces, respect reserved spaces and walk through the lot to the signed main path. The address identifies a public facility, not a surveyed stall.
Ride: Follow the signed main path east along only the separated paved lakeside main path. Distance: Chosen 2-mile maximum return, not the full regional corridor or a surveyed parking-to-parking distance. Earlier interfaces shorten the outing; parking walking is extra.
Permission and effort: Source-backed ordinary bicycle use on the designated improved main path; walking-only spurs and adjacent private property are excluded. City GIS Easiest classification is qualitative. Short lakeside return is a modest-effort selection, not measured maximum slope. Walk awkward initial transitions; wind may increase effort.
Planning: Choose daylight within posted lake / lot hours; owner lake policy allows 5 a.m.–11 p.m., not all city paths. No current ordinary access tariff established; posted terms govern. Event, camping and rental charges are separate. Yield to walkers and horses where present, keep right and announce passes. Obey posted speed, helmet and pet requirements. Ordinary pedal bicycles covered here; no blanket e-bike-class permission inferred.
Access reviewed October 20, 2026 Central (October 21 UTC): Owner trail page returned 403, with no retry; retained October 15 body and independent current lake-use context support this bounded selection. Ongoing resurfacing has no complete dated limits: stop at barriers. Exclude the dam road, wider circuit and any Hobie Point / Portland retaining-wall barrier. This is a dated source review, not a field inspection or current-day all-clear. Postpone for snow, ice, high water, soft tread or barriers rather than improvising a bypass.
Bring water and choose suitable weather. Parking walking is extra. No surveyed parking-space pin or navigable GPX is supplied.
