Lake Artemesia: short ordinary-bicycle lakeside return
Maryland · Other separated ride
Join the main bicycle/pedestrian lake path and take a short clockwise-direction outing, keeping the lake on your right. Turn after half an outward mile or before a road, barrier, unclear fork, fishing-pier spur or uncomfortable transition; retrace. Stay on ordinary bicycle-permitted main paths, not dirt nature tracks, piers or offsite Northeast Branch / airport routes.

College Park / Berwyn Heights, Maryland · Up to 1 mile return · Hard-surface main bicycle / pedestrian path
Start: Lake Artemesia public park lot at 55th Avenue, 8200 55th Avenue, College Park, MD. Owner explicitly lists this park’s public parking and hard-surface trail access. Use designated ordinary spaces, walk the signed public connection to the main lake path and check for reversing vehicles. Stay out of staff / reserved spaces and do not use the agency’s Kenilworth office address.
Ride: Join the main bicycle/pedestrian lake path and take a short clockwise-direction outing, keeping the lake on your right. Turn after half an outward mile or before a road, barrier, unclear fork, fishing-pier spur or uncomfortable transition; retrace. Stay on ordinary bicycle-permitted main paths, not dirt nature tracks, piers or offsite Northeast Branch / airport routes.
Distance: Chosen one-mile maximum return, not a measured whole-lake circuit. Owner’s 86.96 acres describes park area and is not trail mileage.
Permission and effort: Owner’s permanent trail policy distinguishes designated hard-surface bicycle paths and electric-device limits; ordinary bicycles on the main lake path are covered, not every natural spur. Short hard-surface lakeside outing gives a modest-effort expectation by editorial inference. No current maximum slope, parking-approach survey or accessibility certification established; walk awkward transitions.
Planning: Dawn–dusk; obey posted public-lot limits. No current ordinary trail or parking tariff established; posted terms govern. Yield to walkers, keep right and give an audible warning before passing. Ordinary pedal bicycles covered here.
Access reviewed October 20, 2026 Central (October 21 UTC): Fresh owner profile retains public hard-surface access, dawn–dusk hours and parking. Older county electric-device map restricts lake loops / interior connectors for those devices; it does not ban ordinary pedal bicycles. This guide does not approve an e-bike course. Kayak accounts and seasonal rental charges are separate from ordinary cycling. No live notice feed or current physical all-clear supplied.
Bring water and choose suitable weather. Parking walking is extra. No surveyed parking-space pin or navigable GPX is supplied.
