Planning: Choose daylight and obey posted gate / parking hours. No ordinary trail-use pass or fee per DNR; posted parking restrictions remain separate. Access reviewed October 20, 2026 Central (October 21 UTC): Fresh DNR confirms 5.9 mile paved main and named public access; absence of an alert/event listing is not a field all-clear. This eastern course is on the part DNR says is winter plowed, but that does not promise ice-free cycling or immediate snow clearance. Western Manning–Duluth Junction is unmaintained in winter; do not transfer the eastern service claim. This is a dated source review, not a field inspection or current-day all-clear. Postpone for snow, ice, high water, soft tread or barriers rather than improvising a bypass.

Bring water and choose suitable weather. Parking walking is extra. No surveyed parking-space pin or navigable GPX is supplied.
