A small reality check...

Crossings
Counts are planning notes taken from published maps and route descriptions. Slow down at every street, parking aisle, and railroad approach.

E-bikes
Surface suitability does not guarantee that every e-bike class is permitted. Check the managing agency’s current rule before riding.

Getting there
Nearby distances are approximate straight-line miles from your selected city to each available ride reference. Roads and trailhead access can change the travel order. Use Directions for driving routes and travel times.

Conditions
Flooding, construction, events, and maintenance can change access. Current known closures are flagged; use the linked manager source and posted signs as the final word.

Data notes

Useful, sourced, and honest.

Distances and surfaces favor city, county, state, trail-manager, and official tourism sources. “Approx.” marks estimates or differing published figures. Elevation is shown only when a usable figure or dependable grade description was found.

“Closest” uses straight-line distance from your selected city’s representative Census point to the available ride reference point (or, where labeled, an approximate Census city point). These are approximate distances, not driving mileage or travel times. The Directions button routes from your selected city to the listed trailhead; that entrance can differ from the mapped start.

City names and coordinates come from the 2025 U.S. Census Gazetteer. The nationwide list includes 32,071 cities, towns, and Census-designated places. Include the state when a name is shared. If your community is not listed, choose a nearby town. Your city choice is stored in this browser; no precise location is requested.

USA map dots may identify a city or an approximate research reference, not the entrance. Each ride has a reference for map selection and distance sorting. Selecting a starting city centers the unfiltered map on nearby rides; Fit all shows all matching references. Directions use the separately reviewed public start, never an automatically inferred map dot. A published parking target may use explicit coordinates while the written start remains readable. The map lines are simplified planning references, not turn-by-turn navigation. Tap any route’s source link for the latest manager information, then follow signs on site.
